James Powell Mattox (December 17, 1896 - October 12, 1973) was a Major League Baseball player who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1922 and 1923. He was used as a catcher in 29 of his 51 games, and used as a pinch hitter in the other 22 games.
His brother, Cloy Mattox, played in three games for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1929.
